Italian Vogue Loves Black Girls...Again
In the December Issue of Italian Vogue, Andy Warhol muse and infamous androgynous beauty Grace Jones was the inspiration for the four page spread. Shot by Paola Kudacki, and styled by Melanie Huynh, it hit all the essence of edgy beauty Grace with model Rose Cordero. Within the pages, looks like a good 10 pieces I'd pick up and incorporate in my wardrobe. Check out the photos below:

Men's Made to Measure Suits
For those men with the ability to have custom made suits for their professional lives, WSJ.com has featured their picks of the made to measure clothiers for your purchasing pleasure. Their picks were Hermès, Dunhill, Ralph Lauren, & Ermenegildo Zegna. The least "cost prohibitive" of their choices, Ermenegildo Zenga, started at under $3000 for a custom suit. I personally know of people getting custom suits made in the states for less than $1000 - a great investment. Reasons why:
*A man (if a suit is part of his work uniform) wears a suit 5 days a week.
*He owns a minimum of 7 suits to interchange throughout the weeks.
*If each suit costs 300 - he's already spent 2100 on 7 suits.
*A custom made suit wears better, fits better, and has a longer shelf life due to the care in the construction.
*Adjustments can be made for the life of the suit, including letting it out, taking it in, and reconstructing the suit to fit the current style.
Check out the suits featured in the wsj.com article, and take a closer look at suit perfection.

Fashion Doesn't Sleep In Chi - HM and Nike Overnights
I decided to check out the Jimmy Choo for H&M Michigan Ave store display and see if the Jimmy Choo craze was in full effect. Turns out there are some serious fashionistas in the Chi willing to sleep on concrete to get their hands on some stillettos. I snapped a couple of photos of the crew holding the the line (in multiple blankets and lawn chairs) all in the name of affordable fashion. The first girls on line had been sitting there since the store closed at 9pm with their magazines listing the entire collection and a list of what they were going to purchase. They also had already found out that the shoes were on the second floor. I wish those girls luck. I figure for ME to go to the store to stand on a line overnight to purchase shoes that are cute but probably won't fit me is not a good use of my time. The display is beautiful! (photos below)

Display #2.
A few blocks away on Michigan Ave at the Nike store, the men were holding it down waiting for the doors to open Saturday morning at 10 am to get their hands on a pair of Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium Black / White – Red kicks. According to hijordan.com, they are set to release on November 14th. Proof that the men are just as obsessive about shoes as the ladies ;):
...and their line was already around the corner when I snapped this photo.

Fashion Foolery - Chi Town Screening Edition
Thanks to an associate (gracias Cha Cha!), I can now share with you guys the foolery of fashion that I witnessed at a movie screening for 50 cent's new film.
I should report a muppet scalping.
1. guess they thought they were going to the club (it was a movie screening).
2. the cheap matching shoes must have been a buy one get one special.
3. (shorty on the right) you have cankles - you don't wear strappy shoes.
a suede "fur" lined long coat and open toe sandals do not go. ever.

she scalped a goat and her next door neighbor's poodle apparently for this get up. "I will love him and squeeze him...."
yes, that is customized silkscreen nickname on the bakc of his jacket. he's a photographer in the chi. and he had a blinged out flash for his camera.
